What's on your Workdesk Wednesday
Like everyone else Wednesdays come around too quickly.
Well my desk this week was cleaned up for these lovely ladies that came over for our bi-monthly craft night last night. Penelope and Anna graced my table and graciously let me add them to my WOYWW collection.
Of course there is the usual spread of food, notice the chocolate jar is now full of MnM's, none of you noticed the chocolates had gone, I gave it to my daughter. Hubby has already claimed those peanut M n M's.
Simple dinner home made wontons with sweet and sour dipping sauce,
rice, butter chicken and Chinese sausage

Someone asked me last week how I did the backgrounds to my ATCs and I thought I'd share with the rest of you here, it was very easy, I used a spray of aqua glimmer mist and stamped the image up and added the glitter glue-easy peasy.

I had the pleasure of video chatting with another WOYWWer Carol C over in the UK, technology these days is awesome. We chatted on Gmail video so if any of you have facebook or gmail accounts and want to do a quick chat with me someday, let me know.

Apologies to blogs that I signed as #13, had no idea why I did that when I was #3, luckily it was only to those that had visited me when the penny dropped.

So hop on over to Julia's Stamping Ground to see more desks and arts and crafts displays

So my desk remains as untidy as ever! Have no idea what that tv programme was. Hand towels I have crocheted 12 in all so far, getting really good now. Envelopes with all the ATCs I have received so far. I must have to clean it up because next Tuesday I have crafting with my gal pals, so watch out for a clean desk next week and maybe something productive on it.

Dinner was mashed potatoes, feuillette of wild mushrooms and green beans with beurre noisette and almonds. You will find the recipes HERE

I saw this online and thought I'd share with you all seeing that the majority WOYWWers are from England/UK. I had to laugh because that's exactly the type of summer we had here, a failed one.

So run on over to Julia's blog to see this weekly domestic/crafty phenomena

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the beans until just done, drain and hold in a warm place. Sprinkle beans with herbs. Feuillette of Wild Mushrooms
(Feuillette means pastry but I didnt make the pastry bit)
4x puff pasty 6cm x 10cm
1 egg (yellow part for egg wash) or melted butter
400g variety of wild mushrooms
30ml extra virgin olive oil
40g butter
1 sprig thyme
1 clove garlic chopped finely
sea salt to taste
lemon juice to taste
pepper to taste
3 tbsp continental parsley
30g creme fraiche or cream whisked (I didnt put this in)

Cut pastry into squares. Brush top melted butter or egg wash and cook at 180C until puffed and golden. Wash mushrooms quickly, tear or slice into even slices. Heat oil and butter together, add mushrooms, garlic, seasoning and thyme, toss to mix. Saute on medium heat until just cooked, turning up heat to evaporate liuqid if necessary, taking care not to burn garlic or it will be bitter. Add squeeze of lemon and toss parsley through mix. Serve mushrooms on top of one piece of pastry. top with creme fraiche, then other pastry.

Well that was one fast week that came and went, what with all that ATC 3rd Anniversary excitement of What's on your Workdesk Wednesday, and the Queen's Golden Diamond Jubilee (As corrected by BJ)!! I had to tape it and am still watching the celebration.
Did you all watch the Transit of Venus? A once in a lifetime view.
So this is my desk this week, a new craft, a dear friend of mine Sandra sent me and adorable hand crafted-crocheted-hand towel with topper and I fell in love with it. After asking her for a recipe which she didnt have, she told me to just look at it and crochet-welllll that's an ask and a half cos I cannot crochet without a pattern to save my life. So after hours of trial and error this is the results.

Received the following gorgeous handcrafted ATCS from
Sandee from the Hills of North Carolina

So run on over to Julia's place to see what else gone son in the world of crafting desks

It has a cracked glass technique over the photo and I love the ATC size envelope it came in.
